Jim Jungwirth lives in Hayfork, a small forest community in Northern California where his family has been in the logging business since 1954. Jim has been a small business owner and entrepreneur for 30 years with ventures in energy, mining and resources. He presently serves as a Planning Commissioner for the County of Trinity.
In 1997 Jim co-founded Jefferson State Forest Productsa secondary manufacturing facility, presently employing forty people. Jefferson State sells produce fixtures made from local hardwoods to companies like Whole Foods Markets and Giant Eagle in the U.S. and Canada. Jim has continued as CEO through Jefferson State's acquisition by Upstream 21. He is a founding member of the "Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities" partnership under the auspices of Sustainable Northwest of Portland. He has a master's degree in Literature from the University of Oregon.
