Jan Sandred is Program Manager at VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. He also serves as Commissioner for PR and Marketing for TCI. Jan has 23 years experience as a reporter, editor and editor-in-chief—mostly with Swedish and international trade and business publications. He has also worked as a Senior Consultant at Grey Communications in Europe. He was founding editor of Biotech Sweden, Sweden's largest magazine for the biotech industry. From 1984 to 1999 he was Senior Editor at Datateknik, the leading publication for Swedish IT professionals. He was founder, and is a former Editor-In-Chief, of Cad Guiden—the largest Swedish magazine on computer-aided design. From 1995 to 1998 he was Editor-in-Chief at Nya Data Marketing, a Swedish magazine for the IT retail industry.
He has performed reference documentation for the World Wide Web Consortium and has written several books on IT including Managing Open Source Projects (John Wiley & Sons, Inc. and Ohmsha, Ltd. for the Japanese market). Jan Sandred is a frequent speaker and chair at seminars and conferences and has appeared as a guest commentator on Swedish TV2 news program Rapport, and News TV4. He earned a M.Sc. in IT and Mathematics from Uppsala University, a degree in Chemistry, as well as a degree in Journalism and a Master's Certificate.
